BLMA has been making great strides in creating quality prototypical products for the model railroading industry. A good example is the product we are reviewing today. To find one of these in the wild, is a common occurrence. Finding a good example of the prototype on a layout, is like finding Waldo without your glasses.A picture is worth a thousand words, they say. Take a second to look at these pictures and try to find a flaw. We are convinced that there just isn't one to be found. Sure, we found a problem with the prototype and spacing, but it was not with BLMA's product. It actually deals with NMRA standards - and the fact that the standards are not prototypical. This isn't something we will worry about, and look forward to showing a comparative photo, once we have installed the signal on the layout. Installing the tower will need more components to get the signal operating properly. Operating the signal requires a signal control circuit. On the back of the box we found suggestions of using one of the following: Logic Rail, Circuitron, Signalling Solutions, RR-CirKits, CTI Electronics, Integrated Signal Electronics, NCE and finally, Digitrax control systems. This signal is not compatible with Atlas at this time. It would be good to note that this product comes with no instructions in the package. We are only referred to the circuit controls manual for installation instructions. This isn't a problem for us, as it is often the case that each control system and the wiring procedures involved will be slightly different. In short, this model is perfect for any layout depicting 1990 to present railroading operations. The details are very clean and will impress even the most picky of us all, right out of the box. We spend so much time making our railroads look perfect, it is models such as these from BLMA that make such a task much, much easier.
